Stryker Christmas – Thursday December 15

web2On December 15th at 8 am, Fort Carson soldiers will descend on Marian House with non-perishable food, winter outerwear (coats, hats, gloves), children’s toys, camping gear, etc. for our Annual Stryker Christmas, formally known as Operation Happy Holidays. Catholic Charities clients and clients of our partner agencies are invited to attend and share in the outpouring of support from our Fort Carson soldiers and their families.

Clients should be in line at the Marian House by 7:30 am (but not earlier than 6 am) to greet the soldiers as they arrive at 8 am. Once the soldiers unpack their field packs on tables in our parking lot, people will be able to go through and get the items they need. There are limits on items and each attendee will be asked to fill out a size chart for their family while in line to expedite the process. We will provide kitchen-sized trash bags, but if they have sturdy bags, they should bring them.

Thank you to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, the City of Colorado Springs, the Colorado Springs Police Department, the Colorado Springs Police Department & Homeless Outreach Team, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the Salvation Army, the Colorado Springs Parks, Recreational & Cultural Services, First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, Gray Line, and Bestway Disposal for making this event possible.
