For many years, Catholic Charities (CC) has awarded mini-grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 to recognize the great work that is done for vulnerable populations at the parish and community levels. CC encourages and supports these initiatives in the spirit of subsidiarity – encouraging problem-solving at the lowest level possible. It is through these smaller efforts, driven by the seeds of faith, hope, and love, that critical needs are met and greater opportunities sometimes emerge.
Funding priority will be given to projects which involve a parish or surrounding community in encountering the poor; Bring dignity to the poor and vulnerable either through advocacy or direct service; and are less established – needing seed funds, meaning the projects may not have a ready source of income available, such as a charitable or advocacy-related effort at a church, school, or small nonprofit.
Applications are due by June 16th and funding decisions will be made by July 15th, 2017. If interested, download the application below.
