The St. Anthony Prayer Society would like to focus the Lord’s graces through dedicated moments of focused prayer.
For the month of August we celebrate the World Meeting of the Families. The gathering brings families across the world to celebrate, pray and reflect on the importance of families as the cornerstone of our life, community, society and church. The family is the basic foundation of our community which we need to continuously protect and nurture. Pope Francis reminded us that the treasures of families are the treasures of humanity. As Christians, let us unite in prayer to protect the sanctity of families throughout the world that is banded by love and faith.
Catholic Charities of Central Colorado is commited to helping families thrive throughout our programs. The great growth in our family programs is a testament to renewed work and hope for our future building resiliency for families. Let us come together and pray for all families to become stronger, compassionate, resilient and faith-filled despite life’s challenges and atrocities. A united family is a united community. In our prayers, we include those who have no family, have lost their family or who have been involuntarily separated from their loved ones. Through prayers may they feel that they are not alone, that we are all members of a larger human family.
“The family, therefore, is the ‘yes’ of God as Love. Only starting from love can the family manifest, spread and regenerate God’s love in the world.”
“[T]he ‘home’ represents the most precious human treasures, that of encounter, that of relations among people, different in age, culture and history, but who live together and together help one another to grow. For this reason, the “home” is a crucial place in life, where life grows and can be fulfilled, because it is a place in which every person learns to receive love and to give love.”
– Pope Francis
Let Us Pray Together:
We pray for blessings and protection for all families across the world particularly those experiencing hardship in life, discrimination, poverty and homelessness. Lord, please bless our families and strengthen our faith to help us face all life’s adversities and to learn to love more beyond our own nuclear families. We ask that as Christian families, we become the strong foundation of our community and country towards a compassionate and generous society.
Loving Father, we pray that you bless the hearts of more people to provide love and care for those in need, marginalized, poor, sick and elderly brothers and sisters. May the simple acts of charity and compassion fill their longing hearts and that they may feel they are not alone in their life’s journey. Teach us, O’ Lord, to become more accepting of one another and embrace our differences to become a united Christian family.
For our Catholic Charities family, we give you thanks for the gift of growth and strength in our programs that serve families this past year, and we fervently ask you, Lord, to bless all the staff and supporters of Catholic Charities of Central Colorado to continue their unified mission to help our brothers and sisters in need of material, emotional and spiritual care.
In Jesus name, Amen.
