Jeff Zearfoss, a long-time volunteer with Catholic Charities, has been named a finalist for Catholic Charities USA, Volunteer of the Year. Jeff is not the first Catholic Charities volunteer to receive this distinction. Prior finalists have been Nod Mitchell, who not only has volunteered for over 30 years at the Marian House, but was also a board member, and Dick & Evelyn Koprowski, who have volunteered in various capacities with Catholic Charities and the Marian House for 30 years. Dick is also a current board member.
Jeff began volunteering with Catholic Charities in 2005. Over the years, he has created businesses that benefit nonprofits such as his catering business – Common Cause Catering. He and his wife, Melissa also started Local Relic Brewery. Through these businesses, they have worked with Catholic Charities Life Skills & Career Development Center to help our clients learn job skills, and have also hired them to work in their businesses.
