With limited staff, volunteers are critical in helping operate many of our programs. Volunteers annually contribute over 54,000 volunteer hours – the equivalent of 26 full-time staff – valued at over $1.7 million.

Age Requirements For Volunteering At Marian House:
- Teens between the ages of 13 and 15 may volunteer with a guardian (weekdays only if 13)
- Teens that are 16+ may volunteer alone
- Children 12 and under may not volunteer in the Marian House facility. We will be glad to work with this age group in organizing food drives or other volunteer opportunities
All individuals or group representatives must coordinate registration before volunteering.
Kitchen Hours: The kitchen is open 365 days a year. A meal is served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
Kitchen Shifts:
- Daily (Including all holidays):
- 7 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Food Prep (prep and dish room)
- 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Food Service (serving/dish room/bussing)
- Full day 7 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
While we will try to accommodate job assignment preferences, we ask that volunteers be willing to do any jobs that need to be done to accommodate our clients and the Marian House mission.
Volunteer Groups: The largest group that can be scheduled for any shift is six volunteers. For groups larger than six, a special project may be possible. Please contact Director of Volunteer Services Doug Rouse at DRouse@CCharitiesCC.or or 719.866.6286 to discuss group scheduling.
Age Requirements for Volunteering at Marian House Kitchen:

- Teens that are 16+ may volunteer alone
- A parental consent form must be signed in addition to the registration/waiver form filled out by the teenage volunteer
- Children under age 13 may not volunteer at the Marian House. We are happy to work with this age group in organizing food, book drives, or other projects.
If you need to perform court-ordered community service or a similar program, you must bring your paperwork with you when you interview or have it emailed/faxed to us at Volunteer@CCharitiesCC.org or 719.633.0289.
Required Community Service Shift Options:
- Daily (Including all holidays), Community Service volunteers have 3 shift choices:
- 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- 7 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Please note: Community Service volunteers must interview in person prior to volunteering. After your online application has been submitted, instructions will be sent on how to schedule an interview.
