By donating specifically to Marian House, Hanifen Center, and Family Connections programs, a large part of your donation comes back to you in various tax credits and deductions. Donations to these specific programs qualify for a 25% tax credit on your Colorado state income taxes. Excess tax credits may be carried forward for up to 5 years.

Donations to these Catholic Charities programs qualify: Marian House Kitchen and Marketplace food pantry, Hanifen Employment Center, Marian House Client Services, Family Connections, and Hunt Family Housing.

The Details

All donations to Catholic Charities are tax-deductible, but certain programs qualify for added benefits to the donor on their Colorado state income taxes. The table below shows the true after-tax cost of your gift, based on a 32% tax bracket:

According to Colorado state regulations, the taxpayer claiming a Colorado Homeless Contribution Tax Credit on their return must file electronically unless they are unable to do so.
