We provide rent assistance contingent on funding. Current COVID rent funding is processed through the Neighborly system portal.
We offer utility assistance through Colorado Springs Utilities Project COPE.

Colorado Springs Emergency Rent Assistance
At this time the application for Colorado Springs’ Emergency Rent Assistance Program IS CLOSED and will remain closed until further notice.
In response to the high volume of applications received to date, we have made changes to our review process. We understand that many of our applicants are in urgent need of rent assistance and we are working diligently to process applications. Given funding limitations, it is possible that you will not receive assistance.
The following factors were considered when making these changes:
- The limited funding still available through ERAP
- The high volume of applications received to date
If you are on the waitlist for Colorado Springs Emergency Rent Assistance Program, please check your email for communication from rent@ccharitiescc.org. All households who have previously applied were sent an email providing a summary of our updated review process.
To continue to be considered for rent assistance, it is extremely important that you follow the directions included in these emails.

Q: I applied on Catholic Charities’ Neighborly Portal, when can I expect to hear from a case manager?
A: We received over 360 applications between February 1st and February 5th. Unfortunately, due to the high number of individuals in urgent situations, we are unable to prioritize all applications that are facing eviction proceedings. Rather, we process applications on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning that applicants who submitted their application on February 1st will be contacted before those who submitted it on February 2nd. Please know that households who applied between March 1st and March 5th should not expect to receive a case manager for a minimum of 3-4 months depending on the date and time of their application submission.

Q: I did not apply on Catholic Charities’ Neighborly portal, but I need help with my rent, what do I do?
A: If you have not submitted an application for rent assistance through Catholic Charities’ Neighborly portal but are in need of rent assistance, we encourage you to look into the following resources:

Q: I don’t know if I submitted my application on Catholic Charities Neighborly portal.
A: To confirm you have an application submitted, search your email inbox for messages from ‘Neighborly’. You would have received a confirmation email from Neighborly if your application was submitted successfully. You can also search for an email from rent@ccharitiescc.org, we have contacted all households who successfully completed an application to provide confirmation of their being on the waitlist. *You must have provided a valid email address in your application to have received an email from rent@ccharitiescc.org
Q: I’m worried I’m going to be evicted, I don’t know what to do.
A: It is extremely important that you read all documents provided to you by your landlord during the eviction process (i.e. notice, demand, eviction summons packet, etc.) and follow the directions within the paperwork. You may want to seek legal counsel during this process, and it is important that you do so as early as possible. Please note if you have already filed your answer with the court, they will be unable to assist you.

Catholic Charities is a Colorado Springs Utilities Project COPE (Community Option to Provide Energy) agency. Project COPE provides utility payment assistance to families and individuals struggling financially due to a personal crisis or emergency and is funded by customer donations to Colorado Springs Utilities.
Project COPE is the only local organization that dedicates its entire funding to utility payment assistance year-round. A limited number of funds from COPE and Catholic Charities are available for emergency utility assistance. Assistance is offered every Tuesday. Clients must have utility service through Colorado Springs Utilities and have not used COPE assistance from any agency in the past 12 months. The client must bring their most recent utility bill, identification, and verification of income from any source. If the client meets those criteria, they can be helped with past due amounts.
If LEAP (Low-Income Energy Assistance Program) is available (November – April), the client must first apply for LEAP before any assistance can be given through COPE. Please call the appropriate number listed below for assistance.
