The St. Anthony Prayer Society would like to focus the Lord’s graces through dedicated moments of focused prayer.
July is the month we celebrate our nation’s freedom and independence. As we remember the sacrifices of the men and women of this country, let us also remember the sacrifices of Jesus as a way of showing God’s immeasurable love and compassion. July is dedicated as the month of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus, the holy blood that symbolizes love and sacrifice for all mankind. Prayer and devotion to His Most Precious Blood will guide and inspire us to be more compassionate in reaching out with our brothers and sisters in need.
“The tenderness of God is present in the lives of all those who attend the sick and understand their needs, with eyes full of love.”
– Pope Francis
“I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now I know that prayer changes us, and we change things.”
– Mother Teresa
Let Us Pray Together:
Our loving and compassionate Father,
We humbly ask that You bless us, that we may see Your face in one another without looking at our differences. Please bless our hearts that we may bring healing to our brothers and sisters faced with great challenges in their daily journey in life. May Your Son’s holy blood fill our humanity to become more compassionate and loving towards our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Bestow upon them the blessing of strength and hope to triumph socio-economic and health challenges that they face.
God, we pray for true freedom from poverty, oppression, discrimination, illness and homelessness. We ask that our community become more accepting, merciful and benevolent in the encounter with our homeless, poor, sick, elderly and marginalized brothers and sisters.
We pray for our brothers and sisters at Catholic Charities and all of the healing ministries of our diocese, that they continue their selfless service for the poor, hungry, sick and vulnerable individuals and families. May they always bring complete physical and spiritual nourishment to those in need. Lord, bestow Your blessings to their community partners and donors.
We pray in thanksgiving for all of the strength and success you have bestowed upon our ministry at Catholic Charities, specifically for the new Peer Navigator Program at the Hanifen Center. And we give special thanks for clearing our building debt, and eliminating the mortgage for the Marian House and Hanifen Center Complex.
In Jesus name, Amen.
